From the age of 11, I always wanted to be a Navy Helicopter Pilot. I saw a demonstration on my dad’s ship, the USS De Wert FFG — 45, on a day cruise and felt I saw my own future. I spent the rest of my time in school, and then in college, ensuring I was setting myself up to be able to accomplish my goals.
