Saturday: Foundations of Trauma-Informed Practice
1:00–8:00 p.m.
Participants will explore the foundations of trauma-informed yoga through a combination of movement, lecture, and discussion. The day includes a mat-based trauma-informed flow practice and deepening understanding of the impacts of trauma, neurobiology, and the autonomic nervous system. Topics include polyvagal theory, resilience, and post-traumatic growth. The day concludes with an overview of trauma-informed care principles and how to apply them in yoga and mindfulness spaces through interactive group activities.

Kim Simon – Trauma-Informed Flow
A strong, flowing yoga class grounded in trauma-informed principles, building heat and strength while modeling choice-based language, accessible sequencing, and nervous-system awareness and regulation.
Sunday: Principles & Application of Trauma-Informed Yoga
8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Sunday focuses on integrating trauma-informed principles into teaching practice. After a morning of reflection and movement*, participants will learn key Y4C principles, practical tools for resilience-building, and best practices for teaching in diverse settings (e.g., military, youth, justice-involved, mental health). The day culminates in shared insights, a gentle trauma-informed practice that weaves together the weekend’s learning, and a closing circle.
*Hot Spot Yoga classes: 9:00 a.m. Music & Flow, 10:30 a.m. Detox
