Yoga 4 Change Receives Grant from Love IV Lawrence

A first-time grant was awarded to Yoga 4 Change from Love IV Lawrence within Community Foundation Tampa Bay. This funding will benefit young women at Pace Center for Girls Pasco County through a bi-weekly yoga class for one year.

The $8,000 grant covers evidence-based, trauma-informed yoga sessions with a Yoga 4 Change instructor and will continue through January 2024 for girls in the Pasco County program.

Pace Center for Girls, one of the nation's leading advocacy models for young women, provides alternative education, counseling and training opportunities to empower young women toward a better future. Yoga 4 Change will maintain their current work with Pace Centers across the state of Florida.

"We are excited to partner with Pace Center for Girls to bring physical and mental health resources, through ouryoga curriculum, to the girls of Pasco County," says Program Director, Shiva Thompson.

Love IV Lawrence, founded in 2017, established a network of resources for individuals and families to de-stigmatize the conversation around mental health, vulnerability, sickness and suicide. The Love IV Lawrence grant will help to continue the discussion while pairing with Yoga 4 Change to encourage positive and healthy coping skills.

"Our work and advocacy surrounding mental health are an important aspect of our mission and Love

IV Lawrence will further aid in sharing impactful tools with these young women over the next year," says Thompson.
