SuperFit Foods Signs a One Year Yoga Partnership with Yoga 4 Change

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 2019

JACKSONVILLE, FL - Founded in Jacksonville, FL in 2014, Yoga 4 Change (Y4C) will expand to three Florida cities this year with an emphasis on the opioid crisis. With the expansion comes a lot of growth and goals, quantitative and qualitative, and action around sustainability in Jacksonville. For the past year, Y4C has collaborated with a plethora of Jacksonville local businesses in an effort to build awareness, community and create mutually beneficial partnerships. Recently, Y4C has widened their reach to offering Partnership Opportunities to give businesses the chance to receive yoga for their team while also sponsoring trauma informed yoga classes for the 4 populations Y4C teaches. Yoga 4 Change achieves meaningful change for veterans, those involved in the carceral system, at-hope youth, and those recovering from substance use. The organization’s purpose-driven yoga program marries yoga movements with thematic teachings that have been researched to significantly improve health, sleep quality, coping skills, forgiveness, self-compassion, emotional regulation, anger management, and post traumatic growth.

SuperFit Foods has signed on for a year long partnership opportunity to bring yoga to their community. SuperFit was founded in 2015 by local Jacksonville resident, Jared Graybeal, in an effort to make eating clean convenient, affordable, tasty and overall a positive experience. “For Superfit Foods and myself, partnering up with Y4C was a no brainer. I grew up in low-income housing projects and for a long period of my life, was an "at-risk" youth,” says Graybeal, “ A lot of my behavior as a kid got me in trouble and eventually, incarcerated. A program, like Y4C, could have really helped me when I was young and we are excited to be a part of something like this for our community. On top of that, seeing the impact that practicing yoga has had on my life personally, in both mobility and stress relief, I just know that this form of community exercise will really be able to help people and we want to do whatever we can to be a part of that.” The mission at SuperFit is to empower others to live happier, healthier lives. The missions of both organizations, similar in concept, made it an effortless collaboration.

The year long partnership will include four yoga classes for the SuperFit team. Jared, owner and founder, has mentioned using these classes in community initiatives and offering them at events for the public. In addition to these four classes, the partnership guarantees sponsorship for four Y4C trauma-informed facility classes. Facility classes being those offered by Y4C to one of their four populations. These classes have the potential to impact 60+ individuals, reducing stress, anxiety and blood pressure and increasing mood. “Collaborating with businesses began as a way to expose the general population to the impact of trauma informed yoga and to partner with like minded people to reach more of the community. We believe that partnerships are imperative to our mission and the more people practicing yoga, the more people reaping the benefits of healthy coping skills” explained Jacksonville Director of Programming, Melissa Kerce.
