Heather is currently the Senior Producer, Talk Shows for WJCT Public Media. In this capacity, she produces "First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross," "What's Health Got To Do With It?," and "The Florida Roundup." She also contributes to WJCTNews.org, the Jacksonville Music Experience and The Independent and Edible Northeast Florida magazine. During the course of her four-plus years at the station, Heather has received awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association, Florida Association of Broadcasters, and Florida Society of Professional Journalists, among others. 

Previously, Heather spent close to 10 years at CBS News in New York City, where she worked for CBS Network Radio, CBS This Morning and The Early Show, producing news and feature stories for television and radio. While there, she was accepted into the Writers Guild of America, East, nominated for a national Emmy Award for a feature series, and received National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Certificates of Recognition for the reporting of the September 11 events and the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. After moving back to Miami (her hometown), Heather worked as the Communications Director for Best Buddies International and the National YoungArts Foundation.

Outside of work, Heather devotes a lot of her free time to the community. In addition to her work with Yoga 4 Change, she serves on the Cathedral Arts Board, is co-chair of Leadership Jacksonville's Arts Day (she is a member of LJ Class of 22) and co-founder of 904 Day, and serves on advisory committees for The Florida Theatre, Build Up Downtown, Placemaking Jax, Blue Zones, and The Beaches Museum. Heather also volunteers with JAMS and the Cultural Council, and is a member of the Jacksonville Women's Network. And, she still finds time to practice yoga two-three times a week!

Heather has a master's degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from New York University and a bachelor's degree in Public Policy from Cornell University.
