Intro to Trauma Informed Yoga

  • Proactive Life Skills 13121 Atlantic Boulevard Jacksonville, FL, 32225 United States (map)

Are you interested in understanding what 'Trauma Informed Yoga' is, and how it is imperative to offer when dealing with various populations?

Our two day workshop is designed to offer a physiological framework of what trauma is and how trauma manifests in the body and mind.

Our training will give you tools from the field of trauma research, incorporating yoga and mindfulness to manage, and even potentially resolve symptoms of trauma. Our goal is to equip yoga teachers to teach to students with trauma and offer them tools to understand how working with those with trauma, even when teaching in a studio, is different.

This training is for yoga teachers who intend to work with individuals or communities with any trauma, as well as non-yoga teachers who want to learn more about trauma disorders and its healing due to trauma informed yoga - so the can incorporate mindfulness in their own work.

We are doing a workshop series, scholarships are available.
If you intend to attend 3 or more workshops, discount pricing is also available.

Please email trainings@y4c.org with any questions or concerns.

If you want to donate for one of our own teachers to receive these trainings, or a yoga teacher from a studio in your area to receive this training, or our current incarcerated students to receive this trainings - please email!

If any of your students deal with anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, relationship stress, low back pain, hypertension and other health issues - then this training is for you. The goal of a trauma-informed yoga practice is to build resiliency and establish greater self-regulation. A trauma-informed yoga practice is sensitive to the needs of a participant with trauma symptoms (known and unknown) and offers them tools to feel safe, empowered, and self-regulated.

Scholarships are available, and pricing discount for attending multiple workshops is also available.
