Dana Metzger

Dana joins Yoga 4 Change after almost 10 years managing grants and programs in the non-profit mental health and substance use services field. She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Nazareth University, and a Master's degree in Public Administration from University of North Florida.

Dana first began practicing yoga in high school, when she started taking a class at a local community center. During this time, her father was enduring treatment for stage 4 cancer, and she was struggling with anxiety and grief. She thought she would find good exercise and distraction in this yoga practice, but what she found instead was acceptance, support, and coping skills during a difficult time.

Dana moved to Jacksonville in 2015, and shortly after learned about Yoga 4 Change by attending a community class taught by a Yoga 4 Change Alumni. In 2021, Dana attended Yoga 4 Change's 200-hour teacher training program to become certified to teach, and has been teaching and fundraising for the agency since.

She is a strong advocate for mental health and wellness, and is passionate about working to increase access to community resources to improve quality of life for all.

When not working or practicing yoga, you can find Dana at Disney with her husband, reading a good book, or entertaining her two lovable, high-energy dogs.
