Yoga 4 Change (Y4C) is hosting the organization’s first ‘Live Virtual Art Show’ on Tuesday, June 30th at 7pm. The event will be live on the Yoga 4 Change YouTube Channel and will be filmed from one of Y4C’s long standing community partners: H2Om Float. The event will showcase one piece of artwork from ten local Jacksonville artists. Hosted by Director of Development, Breanna Tivvis, and Local Artist and Singer/Songwriter, Meredith Mason, the event will also have 5-minute “Meet the Artist” interviews from participating artists. Artists have priced their own artwork, and a portion of proceeds will be donated to Yoga 4 Change programming. Art can be shipped anywhere making this event open to the general public, regardless of geographical location.
Yoga 4 Change was founded in 2014 in Jacksonville, FL and over the past six years has created many partnerships and collaborations across the city of Jacksonville and the state of Florida. Due to COVID19 and social distancing recommendations, Y4C began to explore alternative ways to support the community and maintain partnerships. For the past two months, Y4C has been showcasing artists from across Florida on Yoga 4 Change’s instagram pages. These showcases become consistently successful and lucrative for the artists, with proceeds being donated to Y4C programming. Because of such great success, Yoga 4 Change created the ‘Live Virtual Art Show’ in an effort to highlight and support more amazing artists. “It’s part of Yoga 4 Change’s mission to create and sustain community in the cities where we offer programming,” says Director of Development, Breanna Tivvis. “Networking in the Jacksonville Art Community has been both inspiring and gratifying.”
To date, Yoga 4 Change has sold fourteen pieces of art from Florida based artists via social media. “I was honored to participate in selling my art through Yoga 4 Change because I truly love their mission,” says local Jacksonville artist, Meredith Mason,”It’s been a fun opportunity to get acquainted with a new community of people, spread awareness about my artwork and give back at the same time.” This event is sponsored by Jacksonville residents and community supporters, Tyler and Melissa Lamer and is being graciously hosted by H2OmFloat.
