Susie’s professional background is rooted in clinical social work.  She graduated with her master’s in social work from Winthrop University in 2010 and is currently licensed in the state of Florida.  Serving in the capacity as both clinical case manager and clinician, Susie worked for over ten years with both adolescents and adults living with chronic mental health conditions, substance use, and sexual trauma.

Throughout much of her social work career, Susie struggled with her own long-term pain and health complications from a car accident in her teenage years that resulted in a spinal fusion in her late 20’s.  Susie started practicing yoga rather reluctantly at the insistence of her physical therapy team; however, after discovering the ways in which yoga was changing her own life – physically, mentally, and spiritually – Susie decided to shift gears in the way she was serving others. She wanted to merge her career as a social worker with her new love and passion for yoga, as she believes yoga has the power to heal and transform lives just as it did her own.

Susie is an RYT 500 with a background in Baptiste Power yoga.  She completed her 200 hour at Big Fish Power Yoga in Jacksonville, Fl and her 300 hour at Bella Prana Yoga and Meditation in Tampa, Fl. She has also received over 100 hours of training specific to teaching both trauma informed and adaptive yoga through Yoga 4 Change and Mind Body Solutions with Matthew Sanford in Minneapolis, MN.  Susie currently lives in Tampa, Fl, and when she’s not practicing or teaching, enjoys open water swimming, the ocean, and the sun.
